The users of the KBTU Scientific Library are students, cadets of the KMA, undergraduates, doctoral students, teachers, researchers and employees of the university. Library and reference information services for all categories of readers are provided by Face-ID at AIBS MegaPro KBTU.

Acquisition and Literature Processing Sector (room 160)
The Acquisition Literature Processing Section is responsible for acquiring books and journals. This Section ensures the availability of the required and relevant books, journals, and other academic materials according to the requirements of the KBTU Schools and academic Centers. This Section records the income and outgoing literature from the Library and controls the movement of books, systematizes the literature and places it in the relevant sections, branches of knowledge in the Library. It also keeps the Library’s electronic catalog updated and adds new arrivals to the Catalog.

Book Bank (room â„– 157)
In Book Bank is used to re-register all students, undergraduates, doctoral students, full-time teachers and university staff using Face-ID at AIBS MegaPro KBTU. Readers have the right to receive literature for temporary use. In our Book Bank readers can find the latest materials on all subjects and fields taught at the KBTU. We have books, journals and research papers on computer science, mathematical and computer modeling, marine engineering and technology, oil and gas, geology, chemistry and chemical technology, economics, finance and management and related fields.

General Reading Room and Periodical Hall (Room â„– 158)
This section is used for reading materials borrowed from the library for a day. Users have access to the latest educational, scientific and reference books in the Russian, Kazakh and English languages on various scientific, technical, and social and economic subjects and specialties offered at the KBTU. Scientific and technical journals are also available, and users can read newspapers and magazines also. Books and reading material are issued for short term and only for the use in the General Reading Room and Periodical Hall.

Reading Room for Postgraduate ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½
This Reading Room is in the premises of the KBTU Dormitory. Here a reader explores the imaginative literature, low-copy books, the complimentary collection of journals, magazines and newspapers. The Reading Room is for graduate students, doctoral candidates and lecturers who live in the dormitory.

Center of Electronic Resources (rooms â„– 161 and 164)
The Center of Electronic Resources manages the library’s tech facilities, administers user services and provides access to electronic sources of education and scientific information, including full text databases. The Center maintains the administration of a library network and the Electronic Catalog. The Centre’s halls are equipped with “thin client" system. The equipment is provided by HP.

Engaged in scanning of small copies and missing literature in the library fund;
- provides content for the electronic library;
- provides services to users in the Library's Electronic Resource Center.

Information library Center
The Information library Center provides users information on library services or facilities. Here users have free access to the Book Bank and other reading and research materials available in the library. The Center provides access to external information sources and foreign databases. In the hall of electronic resources books and academic journals are fully accessible. The Center is equipped with new all-in-one PCs, flipchart, and interactive whiteboards. The all-in-one PCs are also installed in the Reading Room and the Book Bank. Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the Center.

Technical equipment of the Scientific Library
Automated information library program MegaPro (developed by OOO Data Express, Moscow, Russia) - local area network.
AILS MegaPro - Automated information and library system designed for complex automation of library processes. AIBS is updated annually, technological modules are being improved.
The KBTU library is fully automated. Uses barcode technology.
The electronic catalog has been maintained since 2002. Data entry is carried out on the basis of the AIBS MegaPro program.
