Georgiy Surovtsev – KMA Graduate 2016 (Marine Engineer)

Georgiy Surovtsev has graduated KMA as a BA in Marine Engineering in 2016.

Prior to graduation he was teaching Physics and Calculus for KBTU student in Almaty, but moved into the industry right after.

His first job post-graduation was a Management Trainee at Topaz Energy and Marine in Aktau, where he spent his time between Operations, Technical, QHSSE and Administration.

6 months in Georgiy was scouted by the company's Chief HR Officer and joined his team in the Company's HQ in Dubai as a junior project manager on Tengiz Project. He was responsible for setting up processes, systems and management of the recruitment of 600 seafarers that would work on 20 brand new vessels built specifically for the project.

After completion of the project, Georgiy was looking to move into a tech role. He has eventually left the company, but was brought back to Topaz as a Data Science Specialist, where he was in charge of Data Science and strategic innovation projects of the company.

After 2 years of tenure, in 2019 Georgiy has left the company and moved to Singapore in his endeavors of becoming a tech entrepreneur. He has eventually founded to pursue the mission of autonomous industry, and currently serves there as the CEO. Eqcentric now is a fast-growing industrial tech company backed by investors behind companies like Uber, Stripe, and Plaid.


Zhanerke Sauranbay – KMA graduate 2017 (Marine Engineer)

Zhanerke Sauranbay is KMA graduate with Bachelor degree in Marine Engineering.

After graduation in 2017 she was involved in transportation of Modules as a part of FGP Project on Module Carrier Vesser "Barys".

Here, at Topaz Marine and Energy, she was involved in the commissioning of MCV Barys, full engine overhaul in barge COM6, and had an opportunity to be an assistant of technical superintendant in Aktau office.

In 2019, September, Zhanerke joined North Caspian Operating Company NV as mechanical engineer for HVAC equipment where she continues to master her engineering skills by

providing support and technical assistance with design, construction, commissioning and maintenance according to appropriate technical standards and RoK mandatory regulations for Kashagan and Karabatan fields.

In collaboration with Operations, Maintenance and Production Projects, Zhanerke's main role includes driving venture performance in asset integrity, reliability, costs and product quality by providing high value credible engineering services for NCOC Offshore and Onshore Assets.


Artur Kulzhanov – KMA graduate 2016 (Deck Officer)

Artur Kulzhanov has graduated KMA in 2016 and obtained bachelor degree in Nautical sciences.

 

Professional career at sea commenced in December, 2016 in Topaz Marine (currently known as P&O Maritime) as Barge operator on barge. 

 

In September, 2017 switched job from barge to Anchor Handling Towing Supply(AHTS) type vessels as 2nd mate. 

 

In January, 2018 moved to Module Carrier Vessels(MCV), which at that time was in Baku shipyard at its last stages of building process for Future Growth Project (FGP TCO).  Primary responsibility as 2nd mate was navigation of the vessel that includes maintenance and periodic check of bridge equipment, publications and other aids to navigation. 

 

In September, 2019 once 12 month of approved seagoing experience as an officer in charge of a navigational watch was achieved, Artur went to Oman for obtaining a Chief Mate’s Certificate of Competency (COC). 

 

In October, 2019 continued career at sea onboard MCV as Chief mate. In December, 2019 moved to Ice Breaking Supply Vessel (IBSV) Tulpar, which provides supply services for Kashagan oil field project (NCOC). As a Chief Mate his primary duties include cargo planning, managing maintenance and upkeep of the vessel. Chief mate is the second in command following the Captain and head of the deck department on vessel. 

 

Currently, Artur still working at sea as a Chief officer to gain enough seagoing experience for obtaining Master’s COC.


Abay Issatay – KMA graduate 2016 (Deck Officer)

Abay Issatay has graduated KMA as a Deck Officer BA in 2016.

His first job after graduation started at AHTS “BUE Ili” as a 2nd Mate at Topaz Energy&Marine. Soon thereafter he was transferred to the flagship of the fleet IBSV “Tulpar” and continued his journey until end of 2018.

In 2019 he started his next chapter at KazMunayGas- TenizService as a Deputy Marine manager for TCO FGP project.

He was responsible for CaTRo channel and Prorva COF vessel movement, VTS and port/fleet management.

After successful 10months of the work, Abay resigned and stepped up as a Marine Superintendent/ Marine Assurance with Blue Water Shipping.

He was responsible for cargo load-ins at Prorva facility. He successfully executed over 70 load-ins.

After moving to office he was responsible for internal ISM and assurance audits for 29 RIWS tugs, 3 Caspian MCVs and 9 CaTRo tugs.

He holds ISM Lead Auditor and IALA VTS operator certificates.

Abay received recognition letter from CEO of BWS for outstanding performance during the project.

Currently he is Founder and CEO at “Alizar Services”, which offers procurement/logistics services to oil/shipping companies at Caspian Sea.
