On October 29, 2025, the International School of Economics at the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) hosted a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from Washington, D.C.
The event featured a one-on-one conversation with Mr. Jihad Azour, Director of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department, who oversees the Fund’s activities across the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. During the discussion, Mr. Azour presented the IMF’s “Regional Economic Outlook for the Caucasus and Central Asia.”
Among the attendees were academic representatives and students from KBTU, Narxoz University, KIMEP University, and SDU University.
This high-level event served as a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and engaging in dialogue on current economic developments and regional policy challenges. It also contributed to strengthening academic exchange and fostering international cooperation in the fields of economics and finance.
